For your Interior Design Career in London

The fee and attendance (number of hours eg 1 day = 6 hours), on short courses can be credited against Certificates (200 hours) or Diploma (600 hours) programmes, allowing you to complete a Diploma choosing your staged payments and attendance time.


From September 2016

New! Rhino 3D – 1 Day per Week for 7 weeks £385 (this fee will be deducted from our 200 Certificate course or 600 hours Diploma course if you wish to continue at the Academy).

Rhino (Rhinoceros 3D) is a 3D Graphics CAD software package suitable for use by interior designers. The main area of use is for modelling and zooming right into the detail within an interior project. The software has wide range of uses in project applications and is easy to learn. 1 day per week for 7 weeks.

A short flexible course combining Garden Design with Interior Design for 1 day per week. 1 Day per Week for 7 weeks.

Learning how to become an Interior Designer £385. 10.00-13.00, 14.00-17.00.
Hands On Creative Drawing & Working with Colour, Surveys, Floorplans, Elevations (technical drawing) and using chosen computer CAD software to deliver the Photo Real Images for your Client. Start the Design process and join one of our short courses for £385 which can then be incorporated into a 200 hours certificate or 600 hours Diploma. 1 Day per Week for 7 weeks.

Interior Design Software Course £750. 10.00-13.00, 14.00-17.00.
2 days, combines main computer packages: Photoshop, ArchiCAD, SketchUP, Artlantis and AutoCAD. Students shown how to produce complete images from a set project. Then for 12 days, students will work on their chosen software. 2 Days per Week for 7 weeks.

For 2 days, 1,2 & 3 Point Perspectives: Floor Plans & Elevations. Mood Boards, continue with 10 Days Interior & Garden Design. Followed by 2 Days Portfolio Management. 2 Days per Week for 7 weeks.

A 7 week course, 2 days per week, in Vectorworks to assist Interior Designers and those who want to work in the Industry to get a thorough understanding of this essential package to allow them to work on projects. 2 Days per Week for 7 weeks.

 


Perspective Drawing Course

Introduction to Perspective Drawing Course £385. 10.00-13.00, 14.00-17.00.
This course shows students of all levels the fundamentals of perspective drawing in order to enhance their understanding of the 3 dimensional design space. 1 Day per Week for 7 weeks.
 


Photography Course

Introduction to Photography Course (7 weeks) £385. 10.00-13.00, 14.00-17.00.
A 7 week course in Photography to assist Interior Designers and those who want to work in the Industry to get the visual skills to allow them to work on projects. 1 Day per Week for 7 weeks.
 


Graphics and Rendering Course

Graphics and Rendering Techniques Course £750. 10.00-13.00, 14.00-17.00.
Exploring various methods of rendering images, sections, plans and perspectives for interior and garden design. Using traditional art methods and software (Photoshop) you will develop ideas and images to produce a set of portfolio images. 2 Days per Week for 7 weeks.


Drawing Skills Course

Introduction to Drawing Skills Course £385. 10.00-13.00, 14.00-17.00.
Progamme devised to orientate drawing skills towards interior design. A great foundation for understanding what interior design is and become a great designer. Whether the student has an art degree or has not drawn since early school does not matter. 1 Day per Week for 7 weeks.


Interior Colour Schemes CourseInteriors Colour Schemes Course £385. 10.00-13.00, 14.00-17.00.
This programme is devised to show students how to improve their understanding of colour schemes for use on Interior Design Project work. 1 Day per Week for 7 weeks.
 


Introduction to Technical Drawing CourseIntroduction to Technical Drawing Course £750. 10.00-13.00, 14.00-17.00.
Session 1 : Analyzing the different size of the paper and in which way to use it : Understanding the scales : Orthogonal Projections. Session 2 : Understanding plans and elevation
Session 3 : Understanding Axonometric and Isometric projections. 2 Days per Week for 7 weeks.


Advanced Technical Drawing Course

Advanced Technical Drawing Course £750. 10.00-13.00, 14.00-17.00.
Session 1 : Understanding how to configure a layout presentation Illustration of the project.
Session 2 : 2 point perspective for final visualization (1st part).
Session 3 : 2 point perspective for final visualization (2nd part). 2 Days per Week for 7 weeks.

Introduction to AutoCAD Course £750. 10.00-13.00, 14.00-17.00.
*To document technical working drawings in Autocad, including floor plans and elevations. *To gain a solid foundation upon which to further explore the program and its potential.
*To learn the key tools and steps in creating finished working drawings. 2 Days per Week for 7 weeks.


Advanced AutoCAD course

Advanced AutoCAD Course £750. 10.00-13.00, 14.00-17.00.
To document technical working drawings in AutoCAD, including floor plans and elevations. To gain a solid foundation upon which to further explore the program and its potential. 2 Days per Week for 7 weeks.
 


Creativity and Concepts Course

Creativity and Concepts Course £750. 10.00-13.00, 14.00-17.00.
A short course to develop a student’s ability to think creatively and both generate and present conceptual design schemes. During the seven weeks a series of exercises will be set to challenge and inspire the creative thought process. 2 Days per Week for 7 weeks.


Bathroom Design Course

Introduction to Bathroom Design Course £750. 10.00-13.00, 14.00-17.00.
The Contemporary Bathrooms program is a great complementation of working with different periods of interior design, from Neoclassic, Baroque, Rococo, Art Deco Decor, Art Nouveau among others, associated with contemporary minimalism design through companies such as Milldue Italy, CP Hart UK, Roca Italy, Toto, Bizzotto. 2 Days per Week for 7 weeks.

FF&E course

Introduction to Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) £750. 10.00-13.00, 14.00-17.00.
From sustainable finishes to light reflectance values, this short course takes a look at the all the factors which should be taken into consideration when specifying finishes. Covering sectors such as hotels and leisure, retail, office, healthcare, education and residential. 2 Days per Week for 7 weeks.

Introduction to Scale and Surveying Drawing Course £750. 10.00-13.00, 14.00-17.00.
A complete course explaining the fundamentals of Scale drawing and Surveying. The student will be introduced to a project.

Example Session 1: Scales Exercise with the scales, Paper sizes Drawing Square, triangle, hexagon in Scale 1: 200, 1:100, 1:50 , 1:25. Calculate the area and the perimeter. 2 Days per Week for 7 weeks.


Artlantis course

Introduction to Artlantis Course £750. 10.00-13.00, 14.00-17.00.
Artlantis is a popular and easy-to-use rendering application to be used in conjunction with AutoCAD and Photoshop. Its purpose is to enhance design presentations, and is particularly useful for outdoor images such as are used in garden design. 2 Days per Week for 7 weeks.

The Contemporary Kitchens program is based on the strategies of minimalistic symmetric design from Poggenpohl, Siematic and Minotti kitchens, the program covers all modular theory information in 7 sessions. 2 Days per Week for 7 weeks.

Course Aim:
1. To further explore the variety of uses that Photoshop plays in the design and presentation process. 2. To consolidate the knowledge gained so far and further explore the program and it’s potential. 2 Days per Week for 7 weeks.

Exploration of simple geometry. Looking at gardens and planting as artistic abstractions. 3 different approaches to designing a garden. Plant recognition. Structural understanding.
